Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 25, 2025Last Updated: May 26, 2026

Lice Protection Plan, LLC ("LPP," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have. It applies to www.liceprotectionplan.com (the "Site") and to the LPP Head Lice Protection Plan (the "Plan").

By using the Site or enrolling in the Plan, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

LPP is a Missouri limited liability company. We sell a prepaid plan that pays for professional head lice treatment when needed. The Plan is not insurance and we do not provide medical services.

You can contact us at:

Lice Protection Plan, LLC clenzen@liceprotectionplan.com

2. What We Collect

We collect only the information we need to operate the Plan and the Site.

Information you provide when you enroll:

  • Your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number;

  • The name, date of birth, and (if different from yours) mailing address of each individual enrolled in the Plan;

  • Your school or organization, if you enrolled through one;

  • Payment information (processed by our payment processor, see Section 4).

Information you provide if you submit a claim:

  • The date and nature of treatment;

  • The clinic that provided the treatment;

  • An itemized receipt or invoice and confirmation that head lice was identified.

Information collected automatically when you visit the Site:

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system;

  • Pages viewed, links clicked, and time spent on the Site;

  • Referring website.

We collect this through standard web server logs and cookies. Our Site is hosted on Squarespace, which uses cookies for basic site operation and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some Site features may not work as well.

We do not knowingly collect more than this. We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, full health records, or financial information beyond what is needed to process payment.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Process your enrollment and payment;

  • Confirm and pay claims, including communicating with the clinic that treated an enrollee;

  • Send you Plan-related communications such as enrollment confirmations, claim status updates, end-of-term reminders, and material changes to our Terms or this Policy;

  • Respond to your questions and requests;

  • Maintain Plan records as required by law and our Terms;

  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site;

  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell or rent your information. We do not share it with marketers.

4. Who We Share It With

We share personal information only as needed to operate the Plan, and only with:

Service providers acting on our behalf, including:

  • Our website host (Squarespace);

  • Our payment processor;

  • Our email service for sending Plan communications.

These providers handle data on our instructions and are limited in what they can do with it.

Treatment clinics, when we pay a claim or coordinate payment. We share only the information needed for the clinic to confirm enrollment and receive payment (typically the enrollee's name and Plan ID, the claim amount, and payment instructions). We do not share information with clinics outside of a specific claim.

Schools and organizations, in limited circumstances. If you enroll through a school or organization, we may confirm to that school or organization that an enrollment has been processed, so they can keep their list of participating families accurate. We do not share information about claims or about whether any enrollee has been treated for head lice with the school or organization.

Legal and protective uses. We may share information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LPP, our customers, or others.

Business transfers. If LPP is sold, merged, or reorganized, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The receiving party will be bound by this Policy or will give you notice and a chance to object.

5. How Long We Keep Information

We keep your information for as long as you are enrolled and for a reasonable period after that to:

  • Handle late-submitted claims (90 days after the Plan term ends);

  • Maintain financial and tax records (as long as required by law, typically 7 years);

  • Defend against legal claims (as long as required by applicable statutes of limitations).

    When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.

6. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

We do collect information about children when a parent or guardian enrolls them in the Plan. That information comes from the parent or guardian, not from the child, and we use it only to administer the Plan.

If you believe a child has provided us information directly through the Site, contact us at clenzen@liceprotectionplan.com and we will delete it.

7. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. Our payment processor handles card data and we do not store full card numbers ourselves.

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed by an unauthorized party, but we will notify you and applicable regulators of any data breach as required by law.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Access and correction. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. Email clenzen@liceprotectionplan.com.

Deletion. You can ask us to delete your information. We will do so unless we are required to keep it (for example, to maintain financial records or handle pending claims).

Email preferences. You can opt out of non-essential emails by following the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. We will continue to send essential Plan communications (claim updates, end-of-term reminders, material changes) because they are necessary to operate the Plan.

State-specific rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws:

  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to request access and deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. California "Shine the Light" requests: we do not share personal information with third parties for those parties' direct marketing purposes.

  • Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws: You have the right to access, correct, and delete personal information we hold about you, and to appeal a denial of those requests.

  • Other states: You may have rights under applicable state law. Contact us and we will respond consistent with the law of your state.

To exercise any of these rights, email clenzen@liceprotectionplan.com from the email address on file. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the time period required by applicable law (typically 45 days).

9. Cookies and Tracking

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential functions (keeping the site working, processing checkout);

  • Analytics (understanding how visitors use the Site, through Squarespace's built-in analytics).

We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site tracking pixels. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because there is no industry consensus on what they mean, but we honor the substantive privacy choices described in this Policy regardless.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the Site works.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, such as treatment clinics or external resources. This Policy does not apply to those sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their policies before providing any information.

11. International Users

The Site is operated in the United States and the Plan is available only to U.S. residents. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will give at least 30 days' advance notice by email (to the address on file) and by posting the updated Policy on the Site. The updated Policy is effective on the date noted at the top.

If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the Site and choose not to re-enroll when your current Plan term ends.

13. Health Related Information

Health-Related Information. LPP is not a healthcare provider, health plan, or HIPAA-covered entity. However, some information we receive to administer treatment payment requests may be health-related, including confirmation that head lice was identified and the date and nature of treatment. We use and share that information only to administer the Plan, process treatment payment requests, maintain required records, comply with law, and enforce our Terms.

We do not share student-specific treatment or lice-status information with participating schools.

14. Contact Us

Questions, requests, or complaints about privacy:

Lice Protection Plan, LLC clenzen@liceprotectionplan.com

We will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the time required by applicable law.
